English: Please take me to Kaohsiung Medical University's main gate on Tongmeng 1st Road and stop where permitted. My destination is the International Academic Research Building, B2 Lobby, for ICOBM 2026. I will walk from the gate. Please use the university entrance rather than the hospital outpatient or emergency entrance.

Taxi travel times are estimates from the pre-conference notice. Allow extra time for traffic and for reaching the B2 desk after arriving on campus.

Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)

Airport MRT A12 / A13 → A18 → THSR Zuoying

From Terminal 1 (A12) or Terminal 2 (A13), take an Airport MRT Commuter train toward Zhongli (Laojie River). Check that the train calls at A18 Taoyuan HSR Station. At A18, follow the THSR signs, buy a separate high-speed rail ticket, and take a southbound train to Zuoying. Then follow the Zuoying instructions below. Allow time for immigration, baggage collection, waiting and transfers; check the last trains if you arrive late.

At Zuoying, follow the Kaohsiung MRT signs to R16. Take the Red Line toward Siaogang (R3) and get off at Houyi (R12). Use Exit 2 and the campus walking guide below. With luggage, take a taxi from the station taxi rank and show the taxi card above; the pre-conference notice estimates about 17 minutes by taxi, depending on traffic.

From Kaohsiung Main Station (R11), take the MRT Red Line toward Gangshan Station (RK1) for one stop to Houyi (R12). Use Exit 2, then follow the campus guide below. A taxi is another option; show the taxi card. The pre-conference notice estimates about 5 minutes by taxi, depending on traffic.

Exit 2 has an elevator. Walk along Chahar 1st Street toward Ziyou 1st Road, then use the step-by-step main-gate approach and campus map below. The building and B2 desk are inside the university campus; allow more time than the 8-minute estimate to the campus edge.

Follow airport signs to Kaohsiung International Airport MRT Station (R4). Take the Red Line toward Gangshan Station (RK1) directly to Houyi (R12), with no line change. Leave through Exit 2 and follow the campus guide. Alternatively, use the airport taxi rank and show the taxi card; the pre-conference notice estimates about 30 minutes by taxi, depending on traffic.

From Houyi Exit 2 to the conference building

Use the university main gate on Tongmeng 1st Road (marker 1) for this approach. It keeps your route outside the hospital buildings.

  1. Leave Houyi Station (R12) through Exit 2. Walk along Chahar 1st Street toward Ziyou 1st Road.
  2. At Ziyou 1st Road, turn left and follow the outside edge of the campus to Tongmeng 1st Road. Turn right onto Tongmeng 1st Road and continue to the university main gate (marker 1).
  3. Enter the main gate and follow Schweitzer Boulevard (marker 4) into campus, past the sports facilities, toward the International Academic Research Building (marker 11). Hall A / Hall B (marker 26) are in the same building outlined in amber.
  4. At the building, follow ICOBM 2026 signs to B2 (two levels below ground) and the B2 Lobby registration desk. Ask conference staff for the event entrance and elevator to B2.

The often-quoted 8-minute walk ends at the Ziyou Road gate (marker 17), not at the conference desk. The main-gate approach above takes longer. Gate access can change; follow on-site instructions and ask university security if you need help.

Public buses and hospital shuttle information

Public bus Red 29: Board near Houyi Exit 2 in the direction of Yangming Elementary School. Get off at KMU (Kaohsiung Medical University), shown as 高醫（高雄醫學大學） on the operator's timetable. Continue on foot using the campus guide above. Check the boarding stop separately for your return journey.

The operator currently lists intervals of about 25–75 minutes, with different weekday and weekend departures. Check your travel day before waiting; a walk or taxi may be more convenient.

Hospital shuttle: This is a separate service to the hospital's Chih-Chuan Building, not a transfer to the conference B2 desk. Confirm the service day and timetable with the hospital before relying on it, especially on the weekend. First-time visitors can use the taxi card or the MRT-and-walk instructions above.

Driving and parking

Parking near KMU is limited, and access to on-campus parking is restricted. Consider public transportation. Review the university's official guidance for driving directions and nearby parking options.

After you arrive

In the International Academic Research Building, follow ICOBM 2026 signs to B2, two levels below ground, and the B2 Lobby. We send your check-in QR code in a separate email to the address you registered. Keep your CID handy.
