Chung-Liang Shih
Biography
Dr. Chung-Liang Shih is the Minister of Health and Welfare. He earned his Ph.D. from The Institute of Health Policy and Management at National Taiwan University and his M.D. from Kaohsiung Medical University.
Before his appointment as Minister, Dr. Shih held several prominent leadership roles within the Ministry, including Director General of the National Health Insurance Administration (2023.02~2025.08), Vice Minister (2020.09~2023.02), and Director-General of the Department of Medical Affairs (2016.07~2020.09).
He began his medical career as an Attending Physician in Emergency Medicine at National Taiwan University Hospital (1998.07~2007.06). Over his extensive career, he has made significant contributions to national health planning, medical affairs administration, and public health policy in Taiwan.
