Chin-Chung Wu

Professor Chin-Chung Wu received his Ph.D. in pharmacology from National Taiwan University in 1997 and has been a full professor in Graduate Institute of Natural Products at Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) since 2007. He served as the director of Graduate Institute of Natural Products of KMU (2012-2018) and the associated vice president of research and development of KMU (2018-2021). Prof. Wu’s specialist is cardiovascular pharmacology. He has been involved in research of the first soluble guanylate cyclase activator, YC-1, and the first protease-activated receptor 4 (PAR4) antagonist, YD-3; these studies have contributed to the development of new therapeutic strategies for cardiovascular disease. His current work focuses on the molecular targets that are involved in platelet aggregation and arterial thrombus formation, including PAR4 and protein disulfide isomerase. Prof. Wu has published over 130 ESCI papers and owns over 10 international patents. He is listed among the world’s top 2% of scientists by Stanford University and has received the Excellent Research Award from Natural Medicine Society of Taiwan. He also served as Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Food and Drug Analysis (2018-2025) and has established international collaborations with institutions such as University of Szeged and the French National Research Agency.
