Ching-Min Chen

Dr. Ching-Min Chen is a Distinguished Professor at Kaohsiung Medical University and serves as Dean of the College of Nursing. She is currently Vice President of the Taiwan Nurses Association and represents the Western Pacific Region as a Board Member of the International Council of Nurses. Dr. Chen earned her Doctor of Nursing Science degree from Indiana University in 1995, with a specialization in Health Policy and Community Health. Dr. Chen has made significant contributions to public service, having served as a member of Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan from 2018 to 2020 and again from 2022 to 2024. During her tenure, she actively advocated for improved working conditions, fair compensation, and enhanced professional recognition for nurses, while also promoting the critical importance of community health and long-term care. Her professional interests include healthy community development, gerontology, and long-term care. Internationally, Dr. Chen served as a Board Member of the American Academy of Nursing from 2022 to 2024, becoming the first board member based in Asia. She also holds the distinction of being the first Taiwanese recipient of a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).
