Biography

Associate Professor Mae A. Responte completed her PhD in the Graduate Institute of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University Taiwan in June 2025. She has a broad range of scholarly interests, which include in ecology, evolution, phylogeography, arachnology and insects.

Assoc. Prof. Responte has been a recipient of multiple scholarships and research grants both in the Philippines and Taiwan. She authored various research studies in the areas of arachnology, population genetics and evolution. Moreover, she has shared her research findings in different conferences and fora, like the European Society for Evolutionary Biology (ESEB) conference held in Czech Republic. She also achieved several awards for oral and poster presentation which include the Young Systematic Biologist Forum (Graduate Category) at the Association of Systematics Biologists of the Philippines 39th Symposium and Annual Meeting. Currently, her research is focused on the phylogeography of spiders, insects as well as the population dynamics of mosquitoes.
