Tzu-Yu Lin

Dr. Tzu-Yu Lin earned her Ph.D. from Waseda University in Japan and is currently an Associate Professor in the Master Program of Long-Term Care in Aging at Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU). Since 2024, she has also served as Deputy Director of the KMU Long-Term Care Research Center. Her academic interests include aging in place, healthy aging, and community care. In the past five years, her research has focused on developing a healthy aging ecosystem to improve older adults’ physical and cognitive function. She has studied the impact of environmental factors on healthy aging to inform policy and broaden impact. Following the World Health Organization’s (2020) guidelines, she has worked to clarify and empirically validate a comprehensive ecosystem model for healthy aging. In addition to her research, Dr. Lin is dedicated to teaching and received the “Distinguished Teaching Award, KMU” for the 2023 academic year. She has built a strong international network of gerontology scholars in Asia, especially in Japan and South Korea, leading to joint research with the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute for Geriatrics and Gerontology, Kagoshima University, and Dong-A University. Her international standing is demonstrated by her invited presentation at the 2025 Active Aging Consortium Asia Pacific Webinar and her role as a reviewer for international SCIE/SSCI journals. Furthermore, she serves as a committee member for the local government's aging-in-place and age-friendly city project. Through ongoing engagement at both local and international levels, Dr. Lin seeks to apply her expertise to advance a healthy aging society in Taiwan and beyond.
