Mei-Hsuan Lee

Mei-Hsuan Lee, PhD, is a Distinguished Professor at the Institute of Clinical Medicine and Deputy Dean of Research and Development at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. She received her PhD in Epidemiology from the College of Public Health, National Taiwan University, and subsequently completed postdoctoral training at the Genomics Research Center, Academia Sinica. She has also served as a visiting scholar at the University of Tokyo and the U.S. National Cancer Institute. Her research focuses on cancer epidemiology, molecular and genomic epidemiology, risk prediction, and precision prevention, with particular interests in hepatobiliary cancers, metabolic liver disease, host genetic susceptibility, viral infections, and cardiometabolic risk. Her work integrates large-scale population cohorts, biobanks, genomic data, and emerging molecular approaches to better understand disease susceptibility and identify high-risk populations. Dr. Lee has published extensively in the fields of hepatology, cancer epidemiology, and genomic epidemiology, with recent studies appearing in journals including Hepatology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and JHEP Reports. Her research achievements have been recognized by several national and international awards, including the Outstanding Research Award from Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology, Tien-Te Lee Award-Youth Medical Technology Award, Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award, and the Young Investigator Award from the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver.
